Exposition time!!!

 

Hi guys, this new week we saw some new topics... 😨

  • Greeting and Introduction.
  • Verb to be simple present 

They started with a roulette activity with questions and whoever got the doll was the one who had to answer, also with a new vocabulary and explained the differences of these words. Some of the words they used were: 

Former --- Graphic designer 

Phone number --- Get together (meeting) 

Talk over --- Spell --- Greek 

To understand the topic a little more we watched a video of interaction of some people who introduced themselves and started a conversation about their professions, after that video they had to answer some questions, it was just a matter of paying close attention to the conversation. 

The next activity was to create a role play of reference to the video we saw of personal presentation and go to the front and had one minute to develop the activity. 

The second topic started with an icebreaker activity by saying motivational phrases to the students. 

There were explanations about the topic: The meaning of the verb to be is simply to exist, or to be in a certain state, or to possess certain traits. It is one of the shortest verbs in English. It is the most important verb.

              Verb to be.

  • Am -- I 
  • Is -- she/ he/ Is
  • Are -- you/ they/ they/ we 

Structure: Subject + verb to be in present + Complement 

Some examples:

  • I am a student .
  • She is my sister.
  • You are pretty 

A physical reading activity with questions and answers. Also identifying the verb to be from the text on the blackboard, ending with Kahoot that had multiple choice and true/false questions always respecting the reading they had previously read. 

It is important to remember that when it comes to reading comprehension activities, students read and understand differently, but not everyone can do them in a given amount of time.

 Hi guys, this blog is interesting as there are several topics of which several groups of fellows I realize. Phrasal verbs Technical vocabulary Agree or disagree Types of adverbs Used to Everyone addressed very important topics that perhaps we had already forgotten, in the activities we did improvisations with phrasal verbs, in another topic we had to find words using a boggle with a certain tense, we also completed guides using phrases in different contexts, we described places from years ago and nowadays according to our perception, we played kahoot with vocabulary that my group provided, we saw several types of adverbs. All the groups made an effort to give a nice experience to our classmates and when we did activities such as hot potato, kahoot and completing activities we rewarded them with a little something to reward their courage to participate and to know that they understood the topic. Lesson Planning

Hi guys 🤩 This a new week 🤩  This week was a little short, since we saw important points for a class planning.  We started by meeting as a group to give our point of view regarding some questions, it is always good to know that not all of us are going to say the same thing, however we can always agree on some things. For example, we both agree that it is good to plan things, but on a day to day basis, not just for the rest of your life. Although it all depends from what point we are looking at it, I mean personally I don't like to plan my life because if I don't do it I feel sad, but if it is professionally and being a teacher it is a fundamental tool to plan things, because you must keep track of how to start with the activities at what time you are going to perform an exercise and fulfill it as it has been done.  Tips are important to remember...  Always have a plan B (for any unforeseen event that may arise).    Never forget the objective (be consisten...

Learning and Listening

Hello dear guys 😊 This day we are going to continue explaining reading and listening plans. We started with a reading that we did not know in full, but with some new words for us about the food of Barcelona, it was a short text but very enriched with information. Receptives Skills       ⟶ Listening                                     ⟶Reading    Both will have Emphazis comprehension  → Main ideas (what is the text about?) →Details (You provide very specific example from the text.) →Outline (but this not use)  Is important remember that focus is comprehension For this type of teaching we can use songs to see if the students understand the context, in addition, nothing about grammar will be asked, and we will use general or specific questions to know the compression of texts.
